When I first began to talk about following scriptures in the Church, the leaders and some of the members told me that I was too serious. I was also called religious by groups outside of the Church. I could not understand either reasoning. I thought the Church is supposed to follow scripture, not man processes. I understood that people who did not attend Church did not understand religion as well. Today, I realize part of the deception of evil keeps us away from the scriptures by telling us it is religious to follow YAH's word.
We are called delusional or have our head in the clouds if we believe the scriptures are more than stories. In fact, many people are trying to teach us it is a story. History is more than a "story.” I guess because the version of history we are feed is the "story." I think it is interesting as a child growing up, my grandmother would call lying telling stories.
Speaking of a past is not telling a story, yet many religious leaders are called storytellers. Why are they, good storytellers? Teaching scriptures are historical, so why aren't they considered historians? When I look up the etymology of religion,, there is no mention of following the YARAH (Torah), so I guess you can argue it is a particular faith system or worship system. What I have found is the instructions and commandments of YAH are guidance in life, but if you don't want to follow his instructions, then you will see it as religion, and therefore, you will be deceived by the real religion in an effort to so called "get free." Yes, the commandments are a system of faith and worship. I don't deny this is a system, but YAH's system makes sense and is not empty. We will have to follow someone or something's system because there is rulership even when you think you are in control. If you believe the world follows the scriptures you can see where the people of YAH sinned and taken into captive of the sinners. You can find this information in the book of Isaiah.
Here's where the third command is lost to most people. Do not take The Master YAH, thy Elohim's name in vain. We cannot claim to love him and follow him if we don't follow his laws, statutes, and commandments. When we claim to be a follower and don't uphold the scriptures, we are taking his name in vain. I had to accept the fact that to keep this commandment, people will think I am religious, although I am not. YAHOSHUA is helping me to deal with this because he has, thankfully, shown me the truth. Like many in the bible, King David and the psalms show his desire to follow the commandments, presets, and testimony of YAHOSHUA. Here is where we need to look at Faith's real meaning and then worship will make more sense and why this system is your armor and not religious oppression.
