Someone asked a great question. How do people start to follow and worship a person? The Most High YAH made us to worship, and many worship anything. Many people set themselves up as a savior. Sadly, since many do not know the Most YAH or those that do but do not want to live according to His commandments will worship people, things, or themselves. The pagans call it “love or respect.” In the minds of many “love” means you can not think of anything else but them, and this, in reality, is an obsession, but it is worship.
The word “love” also means worship in the scriptures for the Greeks. Greek based love is abstract (air head) type definition.
Yet the Most High YAH says to keep your thoughts and minds stayed on him. He means to study on his word, Torah, or the laws, statutes, and commandments because he is the word. We function according to his instructions, and when we do, he empowers us in the work of our hands and thoughts, so this is not an obsession. If we adhere to his YARAH, we love him (Leviticus 26:3 KJV).
Obsession is a wicked spirit, and it renders the person useless. If a person already has a rebellion against the Torah in their hearts, they will follow anything that makes them feel what they want to feel. The spirit of obsession will blind a person once it sets in and will make the person feel if they are not constantly thinking of the person they are failing to worship properly. Others want to be the person that they are idolizing and will study them to act like them even if they do not know the person. There is a saying that imitation is the highest form of praise. Yea, I can’t see it because a copycat is not what the scriptures say about the imitation of HaMashiach. That is a deception as well because we don’t imitate our Hamashiach. We are made new.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
Therefore, if anyone is in HaMashiach, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Therefore if any man be in Hamashiach
Because people are going their own way, as we are told in the book of Isaiah,
Isaiah 55: 7-8 KJV
7 Let the wicked foresake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the KING, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our Elohim for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith YHWH.
We are told in the verses above that people need to turn from their own thoughts and ways and back to him. Christianity has not done this as people are taught to go their own way. “Do you for you have been saved.” “Live by your truth for you have been saved.” Saved from what people? Don’t follow these lies if so you are being lead by feelings and not of the Ruach of YAH.
Many people like to go their own way and therefore you will find people that worship people instead of The Most High YAH. See "Whose Truth."
